Lemberger 2022
Good fruit expression, but firm tannins and a lightly stemmy, vegetal edge give it a more rustic, structured feel.
Plumsteadville, PA
Overall Score
Vivat Alfa is a charming winery located at the corner of 313 and Stump Road, set inside a beautifully converted 17th-century barn. The original stone floors and walls give the space a warm, rustic character that makes the experience feel both cozy and authentic.
Note: Due to the historic building, the restroom is located outdoors, but it is well maintained and kept very clean.
Inside, a long bar and a handful of tables create a simple, relaxed tasting setup. The value is hard to beat: $10 tasting (9 wines), with full glasses also reasonably priced at $10. Light snacks are available, and bottled water is just $1.
Standout Feature
Complimentary homemade Hungarian smoked sausage (Csabai Kolbász), served with cheese and crackers.
It’s a unique and generous touch that pairs perfectly with the wines and adds something memorable to the visit.
The staff is friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, making the tasting experience even more enjoyable. Outside, there’s a patio with picnic tables where you can relax and take in views of the vineyard.
Overall, Vivat Alfa is absolutely worth a visit—especially for those seeking a relaxed, rustic setting with great value and a few distinctive touches. They’re open Saturdays and Sundays from 12–6.

Dry, tart Riesling with sharp Granny Smith apple, pithy citrus, a smooth mid-palate, and a clean, drying finish.
